General Terms and Conditions
Chimps' Nest Ltd. carries out business on the basis of its general terms and conditions. Our general terms and conditions can be read on our website www.chimpsnest.com or at our reception.
Booking form
The group representative signing the Chimps' Nest booking form warrants that he or she has authority to do this on behalf of all other persons mentioned on the booking form. He or she can be held responsible for any behavior of those persons and additional payments needed on check out. Everybody staying at Chimps' Nest Ltd. has to sign the booking form at check-in. If anyone refuses to sign, Chimps' Nest reserves the right to terminate the booking. Chimps' Nest Ltd. cannot be held responsible for any refund in this situation.
Accommodation
Accommodation is based on two persons sharing a twin or double room, unless management has given written permission to exceed number of persons per room. Single rooms are available at a supplementary rate and are subject to availability.
Prices
All prices mentioned can be changed without notice until the day of confirming your booking.
Booking conditions and Cancellation
All bookings have to be done via e-mail. A booking is considered confirmed upon receipt of 50% deposit in our bank accounts or offices. Only the amount actually arrived shall be considered as paid. The remaining balance must be paid in cash on arrival. In case you have not confirmed your booking with us 30 days prior to DOA, we reserve the right to give out the room(s) without notice.
In case of cancellation, the following charges apply:
- more than 30 days before DOA: 0%
- 30 days or less before DOA: 25%
- 2 weeks or less before DOA: 50%
- 1 week or less before DOA: 75%
- 48 hours or less before DOA: 100%
In case of any cancellation all money transfer costs made concerning this booking are to be paid for by the client.
There are no discounts of any type applicable when booking is not confirmed before arrival.

E-mails
It sometimes happens that an e-mail does not reach us, as it gets lost on the internet. If you did not receive a reply within 2 days, we advise you to resend your e-mail.
Availability
The accommodation will be available from 2.00pm on the day of your arrival and must be vacated by 11.00am on the day of your departure.
Alteration
We reserve the right to alter arrangements or cancel the operation of a schedule should it be necessary for reasons beyond our control. We will do our best to minimize inconveniences but cannot accept any responsibility for matters which are clearly beyond our control. Chimps' Nest Ltd. also reserves the right to accept or retain any person as a member of any expedition at any time, in which case an equitable amount will be refunded.
Complaints
If guests of Chimps' Nest have cause to complain during their stay they should bring it to the attention of the management or other local representative of Chimps' Nest who will do their best to rectify the situation. It is unreasonable to take no action whilst on holiday and to complain upon return.
Age limits
Please consult with us for the specific age policies at Chimps' Nest. If anyone misrepresents their age, Chimps' Nest reserves the right to terminate the booking. Chimps' Nest Ltd. cannot be held responsible for any refund in this situation.
Liability
Please note that your booking is accepted on the understanding that you and/or your group (members) come entirely on their own risk due to the fact that there are certain inherent dangers involved with adventure travel. We assume no responsibility whatsoever for any event over which we have no control. Chimps' Nest Ltd. cannot therefore be liable for any death, personal injury, personal illness, loss or damage to a person or property or other loss that may occur. Chimps' Nest Ltd. is not responsible for acts of nature, fire, acts of governments or other authorities, wars, civil disturbances, riots, terrorist acts, strikes, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, dangers, incidents to sea, land and air travel, incidents with wildlife and other acts or incidents beyond its ability to control. The company reserves the right to employ sub-contractors for all or parts of the services.
Medical Information and Insurance
Please ensure that you and/or your group (members) is/are covered by insurance as Chimps' Nest is not responsible for any claims. Participation on a safari or tour to Africa requires that you are in general good health. It is strongly advised when booking your stay at Chimps' Nest Ltd. that you arrange personal travel insurance, which is valid and effective. This is the sole responsibility of the client and is to ensure that he or she carries the correct comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover him- or herself, as well as any dependants and traveling companions for the duration of their tour to Africa. This insurance should include coverage in respect of, but not limited to, the following eventualities: cancellation or curtailment of the trip, emergency evacuation expenses, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, damage, theft or loss of personal baggage, money and goods. Chimps' Nest Ltd., including their representatives, employees and agents will take no responsibility for any costs, losses incurred or suffered by the guest, or guest's dependants or traveling companions, with regards to, but not limited to, any of the above mentioned eventualities.
Anti-malaria precautions should be taken, and these are the sole responsibility of the guests of Chimps' Nest Ltd. Any required inoculations must be recorded by the guest's health practitioner on a valid vaccination certificate. You and/or your group (members) should consult their doctor or pharmacist for up to date requirements and personal recommendations. By making a booking or transferring money to our account the guest or company certifies that he/she does not knowingly have any physical or other conditions of disability that would create a risk for him/her or staff of Chimps' Nest Ltd.
Wild Animals
Going to Africa may take you into close contact with wild animals. Attacks by wild animals are rare, but no visit to the African wilderness can guarantee that this will not occur. Chimps' Nest is built on the border of a national park and is regularly visited by dangerous animals such as elephants, buffaloes, leopards, chimpanzees and snakes. Chimps' Nest is not fenced, so the wildlife does move freely in and around the camp, the restaurant, cottages, tents and tree houses.
You must always follow the safety instructions from the camp's staff especially with regards to moving to and from your tent, cottage and tree house or while doing a walk or other activities.
People staying in Chimps' Nest will do so entirely on their own risk. Chimps' Nest cannot be held responsible for any injury, incident or death during the stay at Chimps' Nest.
Responsibilities
Clients staying in Chimps' Nest have certain responsibilities to Chimps' Nest Ltd. and to other trip members: trip members are responsible for understanding the conditions implied in our General Terms and Conditions, and selecting an accommodation or activity which is appropriate to their interests and abilities.
Unauthorized Guests
Only the named guests who book the accommodation will be allowed to occupy it. Any other persons found in occupation will be asked to leave. Chimps' Nest reserves the right to terminate your contract with no refunds given.
Damages
Please treat the accommodation and its contents with respect. All damages and breakages must be paid for.
Behavior
Loud and offensive behavior will not be tolerated. Persons acting this way may have their contract terminated with no refunds given.
No Smoking
Chimps' Nest Ltd. has a non smoking policy inside the cottages, tree houses, tents and dining area. Smoking in the main building is only permitted outside on the terrace as long as other guests are not bothered. Persons refusing to comply may have their contract terminated with no refunds given.
